The Hart House Literary Contest, organized by the Literary & Library Committee has existed since 1983. This year the panel of judges included Lee Gowan, Andrew Lesk, Brian Panhuyzen. Congratulations to the 2007 winners!

The Hart House Poetry Prize, established in 2001, is awarded annually by the Literary & Library Committee. This year’s judges were Ellen Jaffe, Bruce Meyer, Ian Lancashire. Congratulations to the 2007 winners!

The Hart House One-Act Playwriting Contest, arranged by the Drama Society, has been in existence since 1997. The 2006 winning play is I Used to Love H.E.R. by Adam Collier. The judge of the 2006 competition was Lynn Slotkin.

The photography was chosen from the 85th Annual Exhibition of Photographs organized each spring by the Hart House Camera Club.

Some of the photographs were also chosen from those submitted directly to the Review.

The E.J. Pratt Prize and Medal for excellence in poetry is arranged each spring by the University of Toronto’s Department of Admissions and Awards. In 2006 a group of four poems by Jim F. Johnstone, including “quarantine” and “lichtenberg figures”, won the award.
